A stream in the dense rainforest of the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
This national park protects one of the few remaining areas in East Africa where lowland
rainforest is contiguous with highland rainforest. The forest has a dense understorey of
herbs, vines and shrubs making it "impenetrable" (Bwindi means "dark" in the local dialect).
Aptly named World Heritage Area where isolation, rainfall and terrain have ensured the
preservation of large tracts of pristine rainforest most famous for its mountain gorilla.
