View from the Mweya Lodge over the Kazinga Channel and the Lake Edward in Queen Elizabeth National Park. This channel joins the Lake Edward with the Lake George.

These 2 big lakes and the even bigger Lake Albert fill parts of the Great Rift Valley. Together with the Lake Victoria on the eastern boundary they contribute to keeping the air humidity high through the evaporation from the lake surface. The moist climate make growing of the rainforests possible.
