Semiarid areas in Uganda occure only in the extreme northeast, e.g. in the remote Kidepo Valley National Park. Only there some of the animals living in the drier grasslands, like ostriches or cheetahs, could be found in Uganda. The Lake Mburo National Park is a transition area to the drier savannas in Kenya and Tanzania. It's the only place in Uganda where common elands and impalas could be seen.
